You lookin' at my EYE?
Jun. 10th, 2013 01:45 amSo, Thursday night, my vision started getting kind of blurry. I hadn't worn my glasses in a few days so I didn't really think anything of it. I stayed up late and didn't get much sleep, so when it wasn't any better on Friday, I still just wrote it off until the evening when it was no longer blurry vision. It was double vision.
On Saturday, I had Joe drive me to the optometrist. There was actually one open on Saturday and I got a walk-in appointment. They did all of the measurements and dilated my eyes and no one was really concerned because I guess I didn't say "double vision" until near the end when the doctor got to do all kinds of hand waving and holding lenses in front of my right eye (the obviously affected one) and determined that my right eye is... doing something funky and he didn't know what.
Tomorrow, they'll call and get a referral from the local neurology place for me. Which is good because, in addition to the eye, the tingling in my extremities I had just before we moved to Bristol is back. Those two together kind of point to possible brain tumor. I don't have headaches, though, so it's not really any more likely than diabetes (which I'm at low risk for) or Grave's disease (which is also unlikely). There are other potential things, but no guarantees yet, so I'm trying to stay positive.
I am currently wearing an eyepatch to help relieve the strain of the double vision because it is bad. If I lay on the bed and look up at the light on the ceiling fan, there are two and they look like they're over a foot apart. I'm... super scared because I have no idea what my body is doing. But I'm going to find out and I'll deal with it.
