MS update stuff:
Jun. 22nd, 2013 04:00 pmI went to the neurologist yesterday. And, once again, this is getting called MS. So, they ordered up a four day course of methylprednisolone for me. I'll end the course on Tuesday after getting a lumbar puncture as a last ditch effort to prove MS wrong. However, there are quite a few medications for it now to do stuff like maximize the time between flare-ups and all of that, though most of them involve injections, so... we'll see what happens? As long as the lumbar puncture does show what they're expecting to see, then I'll get started on that at my next neuro appointment on July 9th.
I also seem to exclusively know people who know someone else with MS, but I do not personally know anyone else with it (to my knowledge thus far).
As another plus, even a few hours ago, I was already seeing significant improvement in my double vision. While I am abhorring how much this is going to cost (seriously, why do a lumbar puncture and an MRI both cost over $1000 after insurance?), I am still amazed by modern medicine and pretty thankful for it.
